The paper will review glass cord usage in tyres which goes back over 50 years, and it will also examine the opportunity to use new materials to meet today's high standards in terms of performance whilst helping to reduce tyre weight. In particular, NGF believe that carbon fiber or even glass carbon fiber hybrid cords hold great potential for usage in tyre reinforcement.
The presentation will be made in the Innovation section of the Tire Technology Conference which runs from 16th to 18th February.
